The Coding Resource's primary focus is to develop coding education plans for GroupOne's clients and staff to keep them informed and ensure they are compliant with regulations/guidelines. The Coding Resource will work closely with others on the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to collaborate strategy for system-wide coding operations to make sure they are within GroupOne's billing processes or make recommendations to add/modify a current GroupOne process.  

  • Establishes and maintains strong, effective working relationships with clients, staff and RCM division team members
  • Ensures coding education plans and training programs are complaint with regulations/guidelines
  • Work with Client Content Manager to develop coding education material for clients and staff
  • Works with RCM team to collaborate strategy for system-wide coding operations to make sure they are within GroupOne's billing processes and compliant with regulations/guidelines
  • Stays up-to-date with industry changes or "hot items" and understand which are important to educate the staff and client to make recommendations for change when applicable
  • Recognizes issues/problems associated with coding practices and/or reimbursement practices at GroupOne and works to make a positive change impacting output
Desired Skills/Qualifications 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Professional Coder is required
  • ICD-10 certified or certified by August 2015
  • Minimum of 4 years medical coding experience 
  • Previous experience as a coding educator is preferred but not required
  • EMR/EHR experience is required
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and payer regulations 
  • Capable of applying judgment and making informed decisions
  • Proven ability to manage a multitude of responsibilities while meeting objectives and working with teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented
  • Occasional travel maybe required
  • Intermediate office Skills
